Spring is springing, 2026 update.

We’ve been busy bees over Winter, our co facilitator team got settled in and made a task list so we could get stuck into all the little jobs that needed doing:

  • We continue to welcome in new members. As our group has grown, we’ve revisited the routines that build familiarity and revisited Alt2sui concepts that our regular members knew well and newer members are learning. It’s great to see our members supporting each other, sharing resources, telling the team what works and what we need to change to be better.

  • Members filled out a survey to tell the team what was working well and what they felt our collective priorities need to be over the year. We will be sharing the results with members in April but there was so much learning and appreciation, it was moving to read it. Thank you, members!

  • The National Survivor User Network invited Not the Void UK to participate in their Community Constellations project alongside other user led groups in the UK. Two of our facilitators will be working with NSUN and our peers to look at what supports Not the Void UK’s means to sustainably function’. The focus will be on capacity-building: interconnectivity and sustainability so that Not the Void UK can be held by a web of more people and we can continue holding space for people long term.

  • We are gaining a good reputation as a source of support, we are beginning to feature in signposting and safety planning, thank you to everyone who is mentioning us to people who might need us.

  • Co Facilitators reviewed the digital security of our Zoom and Protonmail settings and we put together a toolkit to respond to members experience stalking, coercive control and technology facilitated abuse.

  • Events around lived experience of suicide, improving research on suicide, AI and psychosis and paid involvement and research opportunities were circulated to our members.

  • Not the Void UK renewed our Benefits and Work welfare guide subscription and we shared resources on keeping homes warm.

Over at the Wildflower Alliance, Caroline Mazel- Carlton is offering an introduction to the Alternatives to Suicide approach, which you can register for on:
